CONFIRMED for Concours of Elegance Germany 2026: 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupé "Gullwing" Finished in striking Agave Green over black leather with signature checked seat cushions, this matching-numbers Gullwing was first delivered on 15 June 1955 through Mercedes-Benz Distribution New York. Originally specified with high-gloss paint, special leather upholstery, English-language instruments and a windscreen washer system among a notable list of factory options. Restored by recognised US specialists between 2008 and 2009, the car was further refreshed to current standards by a renowned 300 SL specialist in southern Germany between 2025 and 2026, since covering only around 2,500 miles. Fitted with Rudge centre-lock wheels, the rare concave star, a Becker Mexico radio and its original matching luggage set, it is one of the finest examples of what for many is the first ever ‘supercar’. The Concours of Elegance Germany will present a rare chance to see one of the most beautifully presented and meticulously documented examples of the iconic Gullwing in existence. Confirmed for this year’s 2026 RM Sotheby’s auction at Concours of Elegance Germany: the 1995 Mercedes-Benz SL Brabus 7.3S V12. Known as the “Beast from Bottrop”, this ultra-rare Brabus creation is one of very few examples produced between 1995 and 2001. Based on the R129 SL and transformed by Brabus, it combined supercar performance with grand touring comfort, achieving a claimed top speed of 304 km/h. Finished in a desirable “quad black” specification, featuring Pearl Black paintwork, Anthracite leather, a black soft-top, Pearl Black wheels, and a matching hardtop, this example is estimated at €200,000–€250,000.
