Munich, Germany, Thursday 27th February 2025: Following the resounding success of its inaugural year, the Concours of Elegance Germany is delighted to announce the first exceptional vehicles for its 2025 event, which returns to the stunning Gut Kaltenbrunn on the shores of Lake Tegernsee on July 25th and 26th.
Among the first extraordinary Concours vehicles confirmed is the 1967 Serenissima Agena, a one-off prototype born from Italian Count Giovanni Volpi’s feud with Enzo Ferrari. Featuring a 3.5L V8 engine producing 320bhp, a futuristic design and mechanicals by former Ferrari engineer Alberto Massimino, this space-age supercar shape will be appearing at a Concours on German soil for the very first time.
The iconic Lamborghini Countach will also make an appearance in its purest LP 400 form. This very early car from 1976, rolled out of the gates at Sant Agata just one year after the Countach Prototype was unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Motorshow. Therefore, it features none of the wings or embellishments of later examples but instead showcases the futuristic Bertone design at its delicate, spaceship-like best. One of just 157 LP400 ‘Periscopo’ models built, it presents in glorious condition, having recently been restored to its original ‘Blu Tahiti’ colour by Lamborghini’s Polo Storico heritage division.
Other stand out machines being welcomed to Gut Kaltenbrunn this summer will include a 1931 Delage D8 S Roadster, built as a one-off by renowned coachbuilder Henri Chapron. This beautiful D8 S will appear for the very first time at the Concours of Elegance. The owner of the Delage is returning to the Concours of Elegance Germany, after winning the Best of Show award with his unique 1939 Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet at the inaugural event last year.
It will be joined by a much later creation of Chapron: a super-rare 1971 Citroen SM Mylord, that ranks among the rarest Citroens of all. The celebrated French coachbuilder injected the glamorous Maserati engined machine with a new level of exoticism and cache, creating a restrained, yet supremely elegant 4-seater cabriolet, one that would have looked quite at home cruising around the most rarified parts of St Tropez in the early ‘70s. It is believed that only five of these drophead variants were built; the car that will be on display on the shores of Lake Tegernsee is the most special, as the only original and unrestored example of the five Citroën SM Mylord built, left in existence.
Additional confirmed entries include the timeless 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster – to many the first drop top supercar, magnificent 1932 Austro Daimler Bergmeister, elegant 1939 Talbot-Lago T23 Cabriolet and the straight-six powered, 1985 BMW M635 CSi.
This year, Concours of Elegance Germany is pleased to welcome OCC Assekuradeur GmbH as Insurance Partner. The Lübeck-based company OCC Assekuradeur has been a leading provider in the speciality insurance segment for collector’s cars, including classic cars, youngtimers and high-quality sports cars in the DACH region for 40 years.
PAL-V, a world leader in sustainable FlyDrive mobility solutions joins as Official Air Mobility Partner. The world’s first commercial flying car, the PAL-V ‘Liberty’, will be displayed and presented on stage during the event. This revolutionary three-wheeled gyrocopter combines the convenience of driving with the freedom of flight, capable of transitioning from road to air in just minutes. Driving like a sports car while offering safe and stable flying capabilities when its rotor unfolds, the PAL-V represents a bold vision of future transportation that perfectly complements the event’s celebration of automotive innovation through the ages.
Additionally, Polestar will join the event at Gut Kaltenbrunn as Manufacturer Partner after recently confirming its involvement at Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace for this year. This collaboration highlights the growing integration between the heritage of classic motoring and the cutting-edge future of automotive design and technology, creating a compelling bridge between past and future automotive excellence.
Applications are now open for the event’s popular specialist concours categories:
- The Ladies’ Concours, celebrating female collectors and their remarkable automobiles
- The Emerging Collectors Concours, showcasing rising stars in the collector car community
- The Junior Concours, sees parents and their children taking on their respective roles of Mechanic and Works Drivers, introducing our youngest enthusiasts aged 3-12 years to the world of classic motoring.
With just 10 exclusive places available in each of these sought-after categories, early applications are encouraged.
Now in its second year after a successful debut in 2024, Germany’s premier international concours event will once again transform the shores of Lake Tegernsee into an automotive paradise in 2025, bringing together over 200 meticulously curated historic and modern motorcars. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Bavarian Alps, the Concours of Elegance Germany offers a unique combination of world-class vehicles, luxury lifestyle experiences, and the unmatched hospitality for which the event has quickly become renowned.
James Brooks-Ward, Thorough Events CEO, said: “Following our award-winning inaugural event, we are thrilled to reveal the first spectacular vehicles confirmed for the 2025 Concours of Elegance Germany. The calibre of cars already secured demonstrates the event’s rapid establishment as a key fixture on the international concours calendar. We look forward to welcoming enthusiasts, collectors, and partners to Lake Tegernsee in July for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of automotive excellence.”
