Munich, July 1, 2025: On July 25 and 26, the Concours of Elegance Germany (CoEG), presented by A. Lange & Söhne, will celebrate automotive excellence at Lake Tegernsee. The exclusive beauty competition brings together some of the world’s rarest vehicles, including outstanding Italian sports cars. These four-wheeled rarities make the hearts of visitors beat faster. Guests of CoEG can expect around 200 fascinating automobiles in total, with 50 rarities competing for the coveted Best of Show Award.
Italy is known for its passionate automotive craftsmanship and exquisite sports car culture, and a particularly special example is the Serenissima Agena from 1967. This vehicle has an unparalleled story: the one-of-a-kind prototype, appearing for the first time at a Concours in Germany this July, remains in original condition. It resulted from a feud between Italian Count Giovanni Volpi and Enzo Ferrari. The technical development included former Ferrari engineer Alberto Massimino. A 3.5-liter V8 engine with 320 horsepower powers the Agena. Its futuristic body gave it the look of a space-age supercar in the 1960s. Automobili Serenissima was an Italian sports car manufacturer based in Bologna that developed engines and a range of race cars between 1963 and 1970. The brand remains one of Italy’s most mysterious automotive ventures, surrounded by many rumors. Many details are still not fully clarified. At Lake Tegernsee, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the history of this sports car brand.
Also hailing from Bologna—specifically Sant’Agata Bolognese—is the luxury sports car brand Lamborghini. In 1974, it launched a production version of an absolute icon: the Countach. This year at the Concours of Elegance Germany at Gut Kaltenbrunn, a Countach LP400 will participate. The 1976 vehicle is one of the earliest examples of this legendary Lamborghini model series. The Countach LP400 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V12 engine delivering 375 horsepower. According to factory specs, the rear-wheel-drive sports car reaches a top speed of 309 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The LP400 is not only one of the world’s first supercars but also a rarity—Lamborghini produced only 151 units of this version between 1974 and 1978.
When one thinks of Italian sports cars, Ferrari is indispensable. At CoEG 2025, a rare beauty from Maranello will compete in the Best of Show competition: a Ferrari 275 GTS, one of only around 200 units ever built. The elegant open two-seater from 1965 has a fully documented history and was painstakingly restored in the late 1990s following an accident. Today, the 275 GTS shines in an exclusive Ferrari gray tone and holds official certification from the Italian sports car brand. The car, with its 260-horsepower V12 engine, is regularly used by its owner for beauty competitions and scenic drives.
That Italian sports cars don’t just shine in the luxury segment is proven by a 1960 Fiat 1500 S O.S.C.A Spider, which will also appear at the Concours at Lake Tegernsee. This small open two-seater is among the particularly rare models from the Turin-based automaker, having been produced in limited numbers. Its elegant yet sporty bodywork was created by Italian design house Pininfarina, known for countless automotive legends. The Fiat O.S.C.A. Spider was first presented in 1958 at the Turin Auto Show as a 1500 version. Shortly after, the S version with disc brakes all around followed. A highlight is the engine: a 90-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder developed by the Maserati brothers and their company Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili (O.S.C.A.). As such, motorsport know-how of the time is embedded in the Fiat 1500 S O.S.C.A. – where one might not expect it at first glance.
In addition, selected dealer partners will provide a glimpse of modern Italian sports car creations at the Concours of Elegance at Lake Tegernsee: Emil Frey Sportivo – Official Ferrari Dealer Munich has extended its CoEG partnership and will bring a wide model range to offer pure Ferrari emotion at Lake Tegernsee. Lamborghini Munich also returns as a proud partner of the Bavarian Concours and will present the new Lamborghini Temerario, which combines performance and innovation.
The Concours of Elegance Germany thus offers a one-of-a-kind lineup of vehicles that will enchant not only fans of Italian sports cars but nearly every automotive enthusiast.
