Tegernsee, Germany – 25-26 July 2025: Concours of Elegance Germany, the nation’s leading international concours event, has named a sublime 1932 Austro-Daimler Bergmeister its ‘Best of Show’ winner for 2025. Returning to the breathtaking Gut Kaltenbrunn on the shores of Lake Tegernsee, the second edition of the event once again captured the attention of the global automotive world. From a field of more than 80 of the finest automobiles, the Austro-Daimler Bergmeister stood out to claim the event’s most prestigious honour.
Presented with the Concours’ Silver Lion as well as the Meissen Best Of Show Award, a carefully crafted vase, the 1932 Austro-Daimler Bergmeister is a shining example of pre-war Austrian craftsmanship. Commissioned with both a soft- and hard-top, this convertible was originally delivered to Berlin-based actress Maria Matray. Built by Heinrich Buhne, the car represents the height of Austro-Daimler engineering and design in the early 1930s. Now owned by a private collector, the Bergmeister was meticulously restored and continues to capture hearts across Europe’s most discerning concours lawns.
Chairman of the Steering Committee, Richard Charlesworth MVO, presented the Chairman’s Award to the exceptional 1939 Talbot Lago T23 Baby Cabriolet by Chapron. Any Talbot-Lago T23 is special, but this example is particularly noteworthy. Not only a rare prototype built on an unusual chassis, but it also features a body by Henri Chapron and an extraordinary history.
Originally completed just before the outbreak of World War II, the car was hidden during the conflict and later passed through a fascinating lineage of owners across France and the United States before returning to Europe for a full restoration. In addition to receiving the ‘Chairman’s Award,’ this outstanding automobile also claimed second in the ‘Chapron Class,’ securing its place as one of the most celebrated cars of the event.

The ‘Grand Prix Class’ celebrated motorsport legends with a spectacular pair of icons from two golden eras of racing claiming top honours. Prizes were awarded to the 1980 Ferrari 312 T5, a car driven by Gilles Villeneuve during Ferrari’s 1980 Formula 1 season, and the revered Alfa Romeo P3, one of just 13 built and originally campaigned by Scuderia Ferrari.
Decade awards were also presented across the full breadth of automotive eras, from the early 20th century to the modern age. Highlights included the 1929 Mercedes-Benz 710 SS Roadster by Corsica, and the 1960 Maserati 3500 GT Convertible Vignale.
Beyond the concours lawn, guests at the Concours of Elegance Germany were treated to the finest hospitality, including champagne from Laurent-Perrier and a curated selection of luxury boutiques. Adding to the weekend’s prestige, the Official Auction Partner to the event, RM Sotheby’s, delivered further excitement, presenting a world-class selection of collector cars and automobilia.
James Brooks-Ward, CEO of Thorough Events, said: “It has been a great pleasure to return to Lake Tegernsee for the second edition of Concours of Elegance Germany. The setting is truly spectacular, and once again we’ve seen an outstanding collection of cars brought together by passionate owners from across Europe and beyond. The event is quickly establishing itself as a highlight on the international concours calendar, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the years to come.
“I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to all of our partners who helped make this event such a success, particularly our presenting partner A. Lange & Söhne, whose ongoing support is integral to the spirit of the Concours, and our auction partner RM Sotheby’s, who once again delivered an exceptional activation and online auction at Tegernsee. Their shared commitment to craftsmanship, heritage and excellence mirrors everything we aim to celebrate through this event.”
