Iconic BMW 501 patrol car to lead the Grand Arrival

At the Concours of Elegance Germany, the legendary BMW 501 patrol car from the television series “Funkstreife Isar 12” will take centre stage, leading the Grand Arrival of owners’ cars on the event’s first public day.

“Funkstreife Isar 12,” a pioneering Bavarian police series produced by Bavaria Film, aired between 1960 and 1963, featuring 35 episodes that captivated audiences with its Munich-set stories. The series, which premiered on January 10, 1961, holds the distinction of being one of the first Bavarian television series, alongside “Komödienstadel.”

The remarkable BMW 501 also known as the “Barockengel,” driven by officers Huber and Dambrowski, remains an iconic symbol of the show and Bavarian television history.
