Full Car List Revealed for Concours of Elegance Germany

1939-Horch-855

The complete entry list for the 2026 Concours of Elegance Germany at Tegernsee has been announced, confirming a field of 42 exceptional automobiles spanning nine decades of automotive history. From pre-war coachbuilt masterpieces to visionary concept cars, the assembled collection represents one of the most compelling gatherings of rare and significant motor cars to be held in Europe this summer.

The concours field ranges from a 1931 Alfa Romeo that raced the Mille Miglia in period to a 1987 Sbarro Alcador that anticipated the high-performance speedster concept by decades, taking in pre-war Horch and Mercedes-Benz coachwork of breathtaking ambition, a remarkable concentration of Maserati racing and grand touring machinery, and some of the most celebrated road cars of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Here we select stand-out cars to offer a taste of what awaits guests at Tegernsee.

1939 Horch 855 Special Roadster by Gläser

1939-Horch-855

Regarded as one of the most significant pre-war German luxury automobiles, the Horch 855 Special Roadster by Gläser is represented here by chassis 855007. It is the only known surviving original production example from a run of just five to seven cars. Its Gläser coachwork, with an exceptionally long bonnet, sweeping pontoon wings and a low, dramatic silhouette, is among the most beautiful designs of the 1930s. After passing through some of America’s most celebrated collections – and an appearance on screen with Rock Hudson, it spent years on display in Audi’s museum in Ingolstadt before entering the private collection in which it resides today.

1936 Mercedes-Benz 540 K by Erdmann & Rossi

1936-Mercedes-540

Built to individual order and bodied by the celebrated specialist coachbuilder Erdmann & Rossi, this 540 K represents the pinnacle of pre-war Mercedes-Benz engineering. Its supercharged 5.4-litre straight-eight raises output from 115 hp to 180 hp, enabling a top speed of around 170 km/h – quite remarkable for 1936. Finished in a rich red consistent with its documented original specification, the car has remained in the same family for fifty years and has benefited from an extensive restoration by a recognised specialist in recent years.

1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport Spider

1931-Alfa-Romeo-6C

One of five factory-prepared cars for the 1931 Mille Miglia, this fifth-series 6C 1750 finished fifth overall in that legendary race. Delivered new with a lightweight Zagato Spider body, it was later rebodied by Carrozzeria Touring with a unique one-off Sperimentale design featuring rotating bonnet air ducts and a fully retractable hood. Remarkably, it survives today in largely original condition, retaining its original headlamp lenses, mirrors and dashboard instruments, with ownership documented continuously from 1931.

1955 Maserati 300 S

1955-Maserati-300-S

Completed on 17 February 1955, Maserati 300 S chassis 3051 was delivered in right-hand drive with Fantuzzi short-nose coachwork, finished in red and equipped with its matching-numbers engine and gearbox. The early example carries the pure, compact proportions of the first-series 300 S. In period, it became an active and competitive presence in American sports-car racing, recording several victories and podium finishes during the 1955 season. Results at Thompson, Cumberland and Beverly underline its reputation as one of the most balanced and effective sports-racers of its era. After time in the United States, it moved via Belfast to Germany in the mid-1990s. By 1999 it remained remarkably original, still retaining its factory engine, gearbox and aluminium bodywork. A full restoration reinstated the correct short-nose configuration, reversing the long-nose conversion carried out in 1957. In 2009, a conservation-minded approach saw the original engine and transaxle removed and preserved, with service units installed for running use – protecting its matching-numbers integrity while allowing the car to be enjoyed today.

1959 Maserati 3500 GT Convertible Prototype by Michelotti for Vignale

1959-Maserati-3500

The second of just four prototypes created for Maserati in 1959, with design by Giovanni Michelotti and coachwork by Carrozzeria Vignale, this car was presented on Maserati’s official stand at the Turin Motor Show. It differs from all later production Spyders in numerous one-off details: a larger grille, extended bonnet, crackle-finish dashboard and nautical-flag badging. Its original specification mirrors the colours of the Vignale emblem: silver bodywork, golden Tridente, blue carpets and red-and-cream upholstery. A period-correct restoration completed in Modena in early 2026 was closely followed by Maserati Classiche, who awarded it their 100th Certificate of Authenticity.

1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupé

1955-Mercedes-300-SL

This matching-numbers Gullwing, finished in Agave Green with checked seat cushions and Rudge centre-lock wheels, was first delivered on 15 June 1955 through Mercedes-Benz Distribution New York and ordered with an exceptional factory specification including high-gloss paint, special leather, English-language instruments and a sport camshaft. It participated in the Mille Miglia in 2011 and has since been brought to current standards by a renowned 300 SL specialist in southern Germany, having covered approximately 2,500 miles since restoration.

1965 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada

1965-Bizzarrini-5300

Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro and clothed in hand-formed aluminium bodywork, this is one of the competition-oriented Stradales fitted with alloy panels, an aluminium fuel tank, quick-fill refuelling and a roll cage. Its Chevrolet-derived 5.4-litre V8, in a front-mid configuration, produces around 425 hp in race specification. Purchased in the United States in 1992 and restored over three years in Modena to full Appendix K standards, the work was personally supervised by Giotto Bizzarrini himself. The car holds FIA HTP and has an established record in historic competition.

1962 Maserati 5000 GT by Allemano

1962-Maserati-500-GT

Conceived at the personal request of the Shah of Iran, the 5000 GT is among the most exclusive grand tourers ever produced, with each example individually coachbuilt for an elite international clientele. This Allemano-bodied coupé, chassis AM103026, was delivered in red to Scuderia Brescia Corse President Alfredo Beloponer, who drove it to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. It later passed to Rock ‘n’ Roll singer Little Tony and, in the 1970s, to Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh – inspiring his famous lyric: My Maserati does 185. It was shown at Pebble Beach in 1999 and holds both Automotive Masterpieces certification and RINA provenance validation.

1963 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster

1963-Mercedes-300-SL

One of only 210 roadsters delivered with the definitive combination of disc brakes and lighter aluminium engine, this late-production 300 SL presents in the rare and striking combination of Mercedes Blue over red leather, accompanied by its factory hardtop. Matching numbers are confirmed by both the Mercedes-Benz data card and forensic material analysis. Having covered just 12,000 miles since 1985, the car has been the subject of a comprehensive bare-metal repaint and full engine rebuild by one of Bavaria’s most respected 300 SL specialists.

1987 Sbarro Alcador

1987-Sbarro-Alcador

The most striking, unusual car in the entire field, the Sbarro Alcador Roadster was conceived by Franco Sbarro and students of his ESPERA design school, using the Ferrari Testarossa as its technical foundation. Only three examples were produced; this is the only one that has been road-registered. Built without roof or windscreen, with transparent scissor doors and seats integrated directly into the floorpan, it anticipated the trend for high-performance speedster concept by decades. Its twin longitudinal arches serve as rollover protection and channel fresh air from the headlamps to the rear. The odometer reads just 4,195 kilometres.

These are just a handful of the exceptional machines that will be on show above the glinting waters of Lake Tegernsee. The full car list is as follows.
